Urban farms take root

Kami Pothukuchi, Wayne State University professor specializing in urban planning and food systems, commented on how Detroit has quietly become the nation's center for urban farming. "What's going on is quite a phenomenon," said Pothukuchi. "You have a community that needs fresh food, and you have open land. The two are coming together."
